Beyond Europe, Erasmus+ KA107 International Credit Mobility
In the field of musical culture, international interaction is today an essential component of the global market, for it has become a qualifying element in the training and education provided by high-level artistic training institutes that aim to fully nurture the excellence and talents of their students. The modernization of academic curricula and higher education courses in the field of jazz therefore find a precious resource in international Mobility, in terms of the development of the skills of its teachers and students and in relation to the enhancement of institutions and their approach to international cooperation, expanding the network of strategic partnerships and thus enriching the training provided through the broadening of perspectives.
The language of jazz has, throughout its history, become increasingly globalized, showing a peculiar ability to expand by engulfing and processing musical materials from the most varied origins, progressively changing and adapting in relation to the geographical place in which it has developed, incorporating, at least in part, its cultural traditions, so much so that it is characterized by extraordinary forms of musical syncretism.
Institutions of higher education in Europe may apply to their respective National Agencies to establish Mobility agreements with institutions from partner countries on other continents, in order to send and receive students, doctoral students and teaching and administrative staff.
Siena jazz has been selected once again to partake of the funding for International Credit Mobility, the Mobility of European institutions towards institutions in non-European countries, which reward major Italian university institutions through the granting of loans based on the particularity and international value of their projects.
Siena jazz currently has four active projects, three oriented towards non-Eastern European institutions and one in Central America.
Outgoing Mobility Students:
Siena Jazz – National Jazz Academy, as part of the European programme ERASMUS+ KA107 International Credit Mobility, offers students enrolled in SJU Level I academic courses the opportunity to access the selection process for Mobility grants for the purposes of study and traineeship; it also offers teachers and non-teaching staff in service at the Institute access to grants for staff Mobility (training and teaching) beyond European borders. The Mobilities will be carried out at partner high-level musical training institutes in non-European countries with which Siena Jazz has started an exchange project funded through the Erasmus+ programme.
